Pennslytucky!

Aw here I sit in the small hamlet of a old mill town called Hamburg Pa ` Once in its hay day it boasted many mills such a WRIGHT'S and MayFair now they are all closed and Hamburg still has yet to change. It is Pa Dutch country here where change is not an option to many in this small hamlet.
Why am I here you may ask? I inherited my grandfather's home who was the oldest living Pewterer on the East Coast I am privileged to have his Forge, Foundry and Shop where we now house Windsor Forge Embroidery. I sit here inthe wee hours of the morning as my small office over looks the Blue Mountains and it is quite penetrating to watch the leaves change. Soon I will be able to see the traffic on the highway that was once shielded by huge ask trees and other varities that flank the area between my house and the I-78 corridor.CRIME? The normal kid stuff even though they do have their share of it at times. The Town even ran out the Crypts who were trying to recruit from READING pa !

Change is acoming to the area along I-78 as we see the Lehigh Valley grow in leaps and bounds. Cabelas is already the number one tourist attraction here but Hamburg does not reap the benefits of this traffic. Shops are geared towards how life used to be no name brands here NOT EVEN A SHOE STORE!

Simple. easy life ~ change not welcome here

Monday morning from the office

I hope that is finds everyone well as I have yet to turnon my cell phone for the day! So I had mentioned we were partaking of an oyster festival here in Berks County when indeed oysters are not in season yet. Scaryy but we went and forged ahead . Well ok we had oysters and both of use survived the festival, it was not to my total dismay just expected more out of it, but it is Berks County and well need I say more?
The music was grand but no HAG! how can you have a festival with no HAG? If I had really embraced the celtic roost as we come from the Isle of Man I would have purchased every little thing there just dust catchers! We did nail KettleKorn and only to find out that he indeed works a real job in Philadelphia at the Vistors Center so now I have a fabo connection for KK with a secret to boot!

Weekend before the end of summer

So we hope this finds everyone well. School starts on Monday where I sit right now so that alone is quite a reality shocker! Quite small town located inthe hills of the Blue Mountains believe me no one would ever think that I live where I live thus as my father used to say it is hard to hit a moving target~
So plans are for today a Celtic Oyster Festival I saw a little sign you know theones, they randomly place around. Yes this sounds interesting as it is in a very small town and well I will remain open to all new adventures that we go on ~
Great wineries in this region as well and a few great spots that we have happened upon on our travels on day trips ! One being the Inn at Maple Grove in a very small town of Alburtis Pa the food incredible ! Should you not be able to make the drive home quaint little B&B called the Blue Orchid right before Eric Wades place! Remember be kind to the deer in this part of the Pa region ! they are much bigger than you are
